INDOOR SOCCER
The indoor soccer is derived from association of football, which is played inside a building which is also called an arena. It is not played in the stadium on grass fields.
Rules to play indoor soccer: the rules can vary between the governing bodies but some common rules are
1) The Team : There are six players out of which there is one goal keeper ,substitute players are also permitted. A captain in every team is appointed, he is the only authorised person to make an appeal to the officials .
2) The Field : The playing field of the indoor soccer team is about 200 feet long by 85 feet wide which is smaller than the outdoor soccer.
3) Equipments : a) All players should wear shin guards for protection.
b) A ball is required.
c) The indoor soccer requires right kind of shoes .Most of the arena have very short turf which requires flat bottom soccer shoes or soccer cleats.
d) Jerseys: all members in a team is required to wear a jersey in a same colour but with the numbering on it.
4) Duration of the game: game is played for 15 minutes for two equal periods with a 5 minute of break between the period .Only referees has an authority to call for extra timeouts. Over time is also provided if the result is at a tie between the teams.
5) Rules of play: The kick off which starts at the referee signal means the game can be stated by a player .The defense must stand at least 10 yards away from the ball until it is kicked off.The kicker cannot play the ball again unless and until the ball has been touched or played by another player.
Kick off are played to start a half or after each goal is scored.
When the balls hits the margin line on the wall a kick is provided to the opponent team .
6) Off sides : There is no offside in indoor soccer.
7) Misconduct /Fouls:
a) knowingly kicking or striking a player ,use of foul or abusive language shall result with a red card or suspension from the league.
b) A yellow card would be a result of caution if anybody is found violating the FIFA rules like slide tackling, intentionally kicking the ball away from the play etc.
c) All yellow card results in one minute penalty without a substitute being allowed, and if there are two yellow cards it can result an expulsion from the game.
d) All the penalty kicks are taken at the open net without a goalkeeper ,where in all the members defending the ball has to stand at least 10 feet away from the ball.
e) An opponent team would be awarded with a penalty kick if a team has scored 5 fouls and makes a foul again.
