Soccer is loved by most of the people around the world. When this soccer word is raised, only men soccer comes to the mind first. In early times it was believed that this sport is only meant for men. But women competing with men in every field wanted to prove to their male counterparts that they can also play this game.
Though it was not an easy task for the starters, as the Football Association did not provide any help and support, so was with the people as they did not have any sort of trust or confidence in women to play this game.
But later on the women soccer was accepted by the society. The first official game took place in 1892 in Scotland and then in England in the year 1895.
In the1960's there was a group who established Women Football League. In that period Women Soccer was not that much popular, and there were no teams made in the schools and the colleges therefore the group did not found the sufficient players for the league, which became the cause for Women Soccer League to collapse.
Women Professional Football team was established in the year 1999. Two teams were created for one game series to be played so as to judge the future of the series by viewing the reaction of the public. The series was a hit which in turn extended up to six game tours around the country.
Though in the year 2000 there were eleven teams to compete and play for a full season, it didn't worked out to be a successful series as the players complained that they were not payed for the matches played so they started quitting playing the game.
In the year 2001 there took a lot of changes in order to restart Women Professional Football League again, and there were no problems in the following year after the change done. There were number of other leagues that were also formed. Women Soccer got popular in 90's.
