Tabby cat is normally found everywhere so people start believing it's a breed. Tabby cat is not a breed of a cat, its the stripes, the colouring and the spots which are on the body of a cat refers to Tabby cat. The word tabby has been derived from an Arabic word which means stripes.
No two tabby cats look alike. One can easily differentiate by watching closely the hair colour pattern of the cat
Types of Tabby Patterns:
Classic: Many American short hair cats symbolises this pattern.
Marckerel: It has striped rings around tails and legsand has broken stripes running down the sides of their bodies.
Spotted Tabby:Spots on the body of a cat symbolises this pattern
Ticked Tabby: It has subdues stripes all over their body , the marking is not very clearly visible.They are also called Agouti.
Apart from different types of patterns they have different types of colour too like blue, red, black, brown, cream, and other variations also.
Tabby Cat have a common and a distinctive feature that is the letter M on their fore heads.
